Frequently asked

What people
ask us most

Six questions that come up every week on the phone and at the counter. If yours is not here, call us, we answer ourselves.

01 Do you provide courtesy vehicles?

Yes. We keep a small fleet of courtesy vehicles so you stay mobile while yours is in the shop.

There are only so many, so reserve one when you book the work. If none is free for the week you want, we will tell you right away and offer another date rather than leave you without a car on drop-off morning.

02 Do you work with my insurer?

Yes, with every insurer. You can choose Débossatec even if we are not in your insurance company's recommended network. That is your right, and it changes nothing about your coverage.

We will follow the file with the claims adjuster if you ask us to.

The subject is covered in depth in our after-an-accident guide.

03 My insurer says to use a shop from their recommended network. What does that mean?

It means the insurer has agreements with certain shops, on terms negotiated in advance. It is a suggestion, not an obligation.

In Quebec, choosing the repair shop is your call. An insurer can recommend a shop, it cannot impose one.

Our after-an-accident guide goes through the six sentences we hear most often on the phone, and what they actually mean.

04 Can I get an estimate before committing to the work?

Yes, and it is free. Drop by during business hours, we inspect the vehicle with you, and you leave with a detailed estimate.

You can also send a few photos through the form on this site, or book a fifteen-minute appointment if you would rather be sure someone is free when you arrive.

05 I have seen headlight restoration for a lot less elsewhere. Why?

Because it is not the same job. Quick fixes sand the plastic and lay down a finish that yellows again within a couple of seasons. The sun always wins in the end.

Our method corrects the plastic properly, then applies a UV clear coat, the same kind that protects the vehicle's paint. It takes longer, it costs more, and it is guaranteed for life.

06 Why have my vehicle rustproofed?

Because this is Quebec. Road salt, humidity and a forty-degree swing between January and July attack the metal from underneath, where nobody looks.

By the time rust shows on a panel, it has been working behind it for a long while. A yearly treatment costs a fraction of replacing a rocker panel.

Our rust treatment is guaranteed for life.
