What you need to know
Before you drive off in a courtesy vehicle, here are a few things to keep in mind:
🛑 Respect for the vehicle
Our cars are lent free of charge, but they have to come back in the same condition:
- No smoking on board. Out of respect for our team and for the next person who uses it, please don’t smoke in our vehicles. Cleaning fees may apply if odours linger.
- Normal cleanliness. No need to wash the car, but please don’t leave garbage, dirt or visible damage behind.
⛽ Fuel
We hand you the vehicle with a full tank, and we ask you to fill it up before bringing it back. A small gesture that makes a big difference.
🚘 Insurance and liability
Before you leave with a courtesy vehicle, you’ll have to sign a loan form. That document sets out the conditions of use and who is responsible if something goes wrong.
Here’s the gist:
- The vehicle is covered by our insurance, but if you’re at fault in an accident, you’ll have to cover the deductible and any damage that isn’t covered.
- If you carry endorsement Q.E.F. 27 on your own auto policy, it can cover the borrowed vehicle, which keeps a claim off our policy.
- Without that protection, every cost tied to an accident can be billed to you.
